Step by step:
A pre-recorded presentation will aim to teach as well as visually stimulate the audience to “listen” as much as “look”. For this the incorporation of an audio visualization plug-in for Winamp will be required. The visualization is designed to draw visuals/3D-2D-graphics that correspond to the type of sound (pitch, timing, intensity etc) played through Winamp, enabling viewer’s to learn (though audio) whilst appreciating the visual media generated.

About the Visual display and The audio visualization software: it responds precisely like a synthesizer to audio/vocal/beat changes in a sound sample, the result are a set of uniquely random and mesmerizing visuals that will hopefully entices the audience to think about what they are listening to.

Rather then using a generic approach, where the history of social hacking is out lined and analyzed until the present day, an alternative approach consisting of the points above will be explained and expanded upon.


6. Conceptual Motivation: To present Social hacking in a format multimedia format utilizing synchronized visuals and sound effects, to produce a listening atmosphere where the user can listen and find out ‘what social hacking is, ‘what it is about’, as well as listen to documented case stories that prove that social hacking can be successful and does work a method of activism.

The stand alone screen will be set to encourage users to sit down and have a listen. The user only needs to select a chapter and set the volume to get stuck in. The dialogue will be projected using an open source plug-in called “milk drop”(. The use of a visualization and “computer like” speech effect, will utilize a group of multimedia technologies (visual audio and audio interactive). This collaboration of digital art and technology provide an entertaining atmosphere where one can an understanding of the topic.

The goal of the workshop: To produce a shared understanding of what “social hacking” is, whilst delivering the subject in an innovative and interesting manner.
